American actor and rapper Earl Simmons was born December 18 in 1970. He died April 9, 2021. He began rapping in the early 1990s . He released his debut album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot in 1998, which received both critical acclaim as well as commercial success, selling 251,000 copies in the first week of release. In 1999, DMX released... and then there was X. The album included the smash hit track "Party up (Up in Here). His 2003 singles "Where the Hood At?" and "X Will Give It to Ya" are also commercially successful. He was also the first artist to reach No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart five consecutive times. [7] DMX has sold over 74,000,000 records all over the world. [8] DMX was featured in films like Belly, Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds, Cradle 2 the Grave, as well as Last Hour. In 2006, he appeared in the reality show DMX: Soul of a Man that was aired on the BET cable television network Never Die Alone. He wrote an autobiography of his personal memoirs, E.A.R.L. in 2003. : The Autobiography of DMX. [9] DMX was 14 when he beatboxed in Ready Ron. After being sentenced for the theft of the dog, he started to write lyrics of his own. He also played at the community recreation center that was for kids less than 14 years old. In 1988, when he was in prison for carjacking he began dedicating almost all of his free time to creating lyrics, and also to meeting with K-Solo and rapping. The mixtapes he sold were made and sold when the release of his prison for carjacking. [3] This helped to establish an audience within New York. Jay-Z, Ja Rules, and Mic Gérardo were guests on the underground classic "Time to Build" by Mic Geronimo in the year 1995.
